Making a tarpaulin
Using pattern cloth to make the tarpaulin shape
Pattern cloth doesn't stretch and is easy to tape tight around the hull.
We just used a marker to draw the rub-rail outlines upon the transparant pattern cloth
We found some nice brass hooks at 'Toplicht.com'
We finally have chosen for Mehler Airtex Sisal 200 gr. cloth.
It is waterproof, durable, does not mold.
Glad we found a seamstress "Nynke Repair" in the village next to us who wanted to help us out and do the sewing work. We think she did an awesome job!
Fitting the Tarpaulin. It still needs a few minor tweaks. An edge over the zippers, straps to secure the entry flap and the cuff at the mast can be a little tighter.
Pleased with the general shape
Here we knocked in the holes for the eyes.
The eye were slammed in with the use of a special punch.
